Pathway Homes Group has delivered a huge haul of socks to homeless and housing charity, Whitechapel, as part of its Socktober initiative.

Socks are one of the most requested items from service users and the charity gives out thousands of new pairs every year.

Pathway Homes’ Shaun Driscoll visited the centre to drop off over 60 pairs of comfy socks. He explained: “As a Liverpool business that operates within a similar arena to Whitechapel, we were really keen to support the charity through the Socktober initiative.

“Socktober is a national event which includes lots of different and varied fundraising opportunities – for us, the quickest and simplest way to help was to purchase a bulk load of socks and drop them directly off. This is a fantastic campaign that becomes increasingly important as we head into the cooler months and warmer clothing is essential.”

Hettie Miles, fundraiser for The Whitechapel Centre said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff at Pathway Homes Group for getting behind our Socktober campaign. Socks are one of the most requested items from our service users and the staff managed to collect 65 pairs of socks! We know everyone had lots of fun and hopefully it brought colour into the work place during these strange times. Covid-19 has impacted our fundraising and its things like socks and boxer shorts that we need to buy on a regular basis. It’s great to see everyone getting involved and supporting to end homelessness.”
