Pathway Homes is proud to support our partner organisation Creating Change Housing Management (CCHM) and the great work they are doing in Morecambe.

Towards the end of last month, we launched a new initiative at our HQ, thanks to an idea from our Head of Developments Mike Schofield, to support our partner organisation CCHM and Morecambe’s local communities.

To begin with, we asked our workforce to donate and upcycle any spare clothing they may no longer wear or need to help those struggling during such unprecedented times. Rising living costs have already taken their toll with people throughout the country having to choose between putting food on the table, keeping their homes warm and paying rent. With these issues only set to worsen in the coming winter months, it is apparent more than ever that people don’t have excess money to purchase essential clothing for themselves and/or their families. This is something that just shouldn’t be happening in the 21st century. So, we’ve made it our mission to do something about it, one region at a time.

A few weeks ago, we placed two donation boxes in our HQ and have been blown away by the response from our team. They truly went above and beyond to supply clothing donations for people in need of support.

Our Head of Developments Mike stated, “on a recent visit to Morecambe to carry out development works on several properties, I got chatting to Hayley from CCHM who informed me that they are currently experiencing a shortage of clothing to distribute to the people they are working with in Morecambe’s local communities. It made me realise how fortunate most of us are and how we could ultimately do more to help those most in need. That same day, I mentioned the idea of Pathway Homes arranging a clothing upcycle initiative to our office manager”.

He continued, “as a provider that delivers crucial support to local communities, it is so important that CCHM is also supported with contributions to boost their services. We were so happy to provide this donation and it was my absolute pleasure to deliver it to Hayley and the team in Morecambe earlier this week”.

Hayley Morris, Supported Housing Manager at CCHM, stated: “the ongoing support of Pathway Homes has made a real difference to the services we provide. Their recent generous donation has ensured our management team can deliver much-needed clothing to individuals and families in Morecambe who will really benefit from such items. We are so grateful for this donation”.

This is the latest in a number of donations we have made to support Morecambe’s local communities in recent years, having previously donated essential food items to Morecambe Bay Foodbank and later providing construction work on a vast development project for the charity when they moved premises in the summer of 2021.

Moving forward, we remain committed to helping other regions throughout the country and providing support where possible.
