Exeter City Community Trust

Exeter City Community Trust (ECCT) is one of the South West's leading health and wellbeing charities, and the official charity partner of Exeter City Football Club. ECCT has a brilliant reputation for supporting children and young adults through the power of sport, and in a pioneering new partnership with Pathway Homes - and our housing association partners Dawson - the charity has added quality supported housing to the list of services they can offer to their community

CCHM

CCHM provides supported housing to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Their residents often need extra help to manage and maintain a tenancy, and CCHM’s skilled team offers support to encourage personal growth, self-development, and independence. CCHM works hard to empower individuals through a program of intensive support and educational opportunities, which helps their tenants to develop new skills and ultimately move towards independent living.

Dawson Housing

Housing association Dawson Housing delivers high quality homes and services to some of the most vulnerable people in the UK, including adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, addiction issues, mental health issues, and other additional support needs, as well as adults who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness. Dawson strives to provide high quality homes and a value-for-money service for their tenants and Local Authorities.

Bedir

Bedir approached Pathway Homes partner organisation, CCHM, in December 2019, after being granted asylum. Unable to return to his home country of Turkey and speaking very little English, he struggled to access local services including housing and education.

8-week construction programme

Prior to purchase, the property was extensively run down, barren and dilapidated, and in need of a full refurbishment programme, underpinned by significant investment. Pathway Homes had identified a need to provide quality homes within the immediate area specifically for vulnerable adults at risk of homelessness who have been referred to by partner organisation, CCHM.

186 unit scheme for vulnerable adults

This Authority had identified a long term and historic need for additional housing stock to cope with the demand of it escalating homeless issues. It had been highlighted that at any given time the authority is in need of an additional 155 beds for its homeless population, a figure that continues to grow.
